Psychological Counselling Cell

About

The Psychological Counselling Cell was established in the year 2018 to help students with different psychological problems. The quest of the Psychological Counselling Cell is to make life better for each and every student, teacher and non-teaching staff of our college. Any little issue which might hamper our growth is important and should not be trivialised, as development is holistic; the Counselling Cell aims to support and ensure the well-being of the RPMC fraternity. 

The Psychological Counselling cell deals with emotional, behavioural and cognitive problems (like Academic anxiety, Stress Management, Relationship Problems, Family Problems, Low Confidence, Adapting to a new environment, Addiction – Smoking, drugs, alcohol and even the Internet or any psychological issues for the welfare of our students. 

The Counselling services at our college are provided by Certified Counsellor Mrs Anindita Mukherjee. She has helped many of our students overcome anxiety, confidence issues, depression, stress, traumatic experiences and many more. 

The Psychological Counselling Cell organised its first Faculty Development Program from 13th to 20th June 2022 on “Understanding Mental Health.” 

Need for Counselling: 

Students at our college form a diverse community, and hence their problems are also diverse in nature. Counselling helps the students to:

  • Understand their true potential and excel, 
  • Develop a more positive, hopeful outlook 
  • Get insight into their own selves, and understand their habits that might cause the problems. 
  • Regain a sense of control over their life 
  • Succeed in Life endeavours
