“SPANDAN”- The Mushroom Cultivation Unit :  

A new feather to the Dept. Of Botany,  has been installed this year 2023 –as SPANDAN. the mushroom cultivation unit so as to provide a basic training and idea to interested candidates on mushroom cultivation . This will help students to take up this line in future as a source of earning and livelihood. However small scale training program are organised for students at regular intervals. A workshop is going to be held on this on January 2024 , organised by RAJA PEARY MOHAN COLLEGE .

OUTCOME OF THE INITIATIVE :
• The college through department of BOTANY is slowly trying to develop a independent mushroom cultivation unit which will not only deal with mushroom cultivation but also production of spawn.
• “Spandan” is trying to encourage students to take keen interest in the field of mushroom as the modern need of the hour is mushroom for its nutraceutical value.
• If the initial process gives better result Spandan has aimed for community development in near future through hand of students.
• Presently we are developing it as a center of  knowledge exchange.
• Students are encouraged for development of entrepreneurship.
