IPR AND ITS RELEVANCE:

Intellectual properties (IP) are the category of properties which include intangible creations of the human intellect. The most popular types of such properties are copyrights, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. "Intellectual Property Rights" refers to the legal rights granted to the innovators with the aim to protect the creations of the intellect.

Advantages of Securing the Intellectual Property Rights are as follows:

1. It encourages innovations among all.
2. It turns the innovative ideas into profits.
3. It facilitates in raising finance for business.
4. It provides security to the unique ideas and creations.
5. It accelerates business growth which in turn ensures economic wellbeing.

IPR CELL OF OUR COLLEGE: 

From a college’s point of view, awareness regarding Intellectual Property Rights is of utmost importance. Our college is a multidisciplinary college, covering both the science as well as humanities in under graduate level. Our education system provides a wide scope of research orientation to the students from their college-days. In this respect, the awareness of Intellectual Property Rights plays a very crucial role to provide them with proper security for their intellectual innovations. Keeping it in mind, our college has set up an ‘Intellectual Property Rights Cell’, in the academic year 2018-2019, which arranges different programmes such as seminars, observation of IPR Day and may more to provide awareness among the students. The Cell is constantly in touch with the academicians and government officials to provide every assistance to the students regarding Intellectual Property Rights.
